At Bellessise
Bellessise is home to Phil, Liz, Cath and Dave, two couples who manage the smallholding sustainably, besides growing most of our own vegetables we also keep sheep, free range chickens, dogs and cats.
Situated 2km from Sarlande and 8km from the historic chateau of Jumilhac le Grand. Bellessise is set in 29 hectares (72 acres) of its own land, with 2 lakes, an orchard, a mix of woodlands, pasture and wild meadows creating a paradise for plants, birds and wildlife. Amongst the 30+species of trees we have observed over 50 species of birds along with wild boar, foxes, badgers, pine martens, otters, red deer, roe deer, dormice, bats and brown hares.

We have created a network of paths throughout Bellessise ideal for an early morning ramble, pre or post lunch amble, a late evening stroll or even a cycle ride. Depending on the time of year hunt for mushrooms, pick blackberries or collect chestnuts. Admire the views, listen to the natural sounds, stop by to say hello to the free range chickens, Solognote and Racka sheep.
At Bellessise we follow organic principles to grow a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and fruit which are available to buy seasonally from the écurie.
